THIS LIFE is the time
Hey Y'all!
Another week has come and gone and just like that we are more
than half way through the transfer. Hard to believe how fast the time is flying
by! This transfer has been like the blink of an eye. I can't wrap my mind around
how fast time is going by. This past week was a really good one though. We
accomplished a lot and had a lot of fun doing it!
So we found out last Monday from Jacob that he was behind on
rent and that if he didn't pay it in full in 10 days that he was going to have
to go back to jail.. it was really startling to all of us cause he was doing so
good with everything and decided he wanted to stop smoking and then out of know
where Satan comes a long and BOOM he finds him self in a ditch. So we said a
prayer together to find a means where we could help him pay his rent and I was
reminded about the church welfare program. after talking to bishop brown we
were able to find a way to help him out this month so that he could have more
time to find a second job. I sure am grateful to be apart of the everlasting
gospel that is here to better others lives and help others find the true
meaning of faith in Christ. That experience truly did strengthen my testimony
in not only the power of prayer, but he power that charity has in ones life.
Jacob came to church yesterday and is still super pumped to be baptized!
We were also able to have another one of our investigators,
Virginia, come to church. haha she is such a sweet lady and came strollin' in
rocking a huge cross haha it was pretty funny, but she enjoyed the service.
Unfortunately we weren't able to meet with Mike this past week because he was
feeling under the weather which also kept him from making it to church. So pray
that he will be able to make it this next week!
We also got to go on exchanges with the Phillippi Elders
which was a lot of fun! I got to go with elder Cornwall haha I love that kid.
He's looking to play ball for Dixie when he gets home so we had a lot in common
and a lot to talk about as you could imagine. You get two baseball players together
that have never met and they become brothers in the first two hours haha. Love
that guy!!
Yesterday was a pretty fun day haha we had church then went
over and spent some time with one of our investigator families The Swigers and
hung out with him and his baseball team for a little bit and right before his
practice he introduced us to all of his players parents and told them to let us
in there homes so we could teach them haha hes a great guy and will be a
wonderful member missionary some day! after that we went to a dinner
appointment and then we taught Jacob and he proceeded to teach us how to make
homemade mustard gas and napalm ha so that was pretty funny. After we were
leaving our appointment with Jacob I was walking behind Elder Garrett and slapped
him on the back of the head and he thought it was someone else so he got super
heated and almost turned around and decked me haha it was really funny.. You
had to be there to understand..
For my spiritual thought I want to share another scripture
from the Book of Mormon.
Alma 34: 32
32 For
behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet
God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform
their labors.
Remember that we cant become perfect over night and that God
doesn't expect us to be perfect tomorrow. He never expects us to be perfect in
this life. But he has given us our LIFE to become like him. So if your
struggling with something right now that doesn't seem possible to overcome,
remember that you have your whole life and then some to work on that and become
better. The Savior is beckoning to us to come unto him, listen to his call, use
the atonement each and every day and trust in the Father's plan. I love you all
and hope you have a great week!!
Elder Robbie Wilson

God looks to live in West Virginia!
