Where Did March Go?

Hey Y'all.

This past week was a week. We had a lot of fun, but also had a lot of struggles in other aspects of the work. I have truly felt the affects of the adversary when you let them win and take over your thoughts. I never want to experience what I experienced mentally this past week. I'm grateful to have a savior that is there to help pic us up and allow us to see the light at the end of the tunnel when we feel like there isn't ever going to be one. I testify to you that the atonement really is there to bring happiness and fulfillment in our lives. USE IT! I promise you wont regret it.

The work on the other hand has been going pretty good! Elder Garrett and I are staying really busy and really enjoying our selves together haha I swear ever since my year mark, all of my companions have felt like I've been serving with one of my brothers. Makes it a lot of fun, and probably one of the biggest reasons as of to why the time is going by so fast. Anyway this past week wasn't anything too special, we had an exchange with the New Martinsville elders and that was a blast as usual. I got to spend the day with Elder Atkinson and that kid is a clown and a half. Towards the end of the day we went to the park to ITL people there and got surrounded by tons of duck and geese it was pretty neat...  but ya other than that things have just been chugging a long out here in good ole Clarksburg WV! we have a lot of sweet potentials that we are pumped to contact this week!

We found out that our mission will be getting smart phones with in the next few months which is kinda lame to be honest.. I was hoping to go my whole mission with out having to worry about that transition but from the sounds of it they will hit the mission right at the beginning of my last transfer.. Should be interesting, but its the Lords work and he is going to hasten it in his own time and in his own way, and if he feels that smart phones are the best way to do that then so be it! It will make quite a bit of the work aspect be a little smoother, just the whole transition will be interesting haha.

For my spiritual thought today I wanna talk about he power and the gift of Love. What effect does love have on our lives? If you asked me id say it effects everything that we do. The apostle Paul in the 1 book of Corinthians says that we could have the faith to move mountains but if we have not Charity we are nothing. the feeling I get when I tell someone I love them or show my love to someone by serving them and making sure that they have a smile on their face is priceless, and that because as we show love we follow the footsteps of our savior in loving our neighbor. I want to invite you all this week to find someone you love and either tell them, or show your love for them by serving them. It could be something as small as putting a smile on their face. I love you all and hope you have a good week.

THIS LIFE is the time

Hey Y'all!

Another week has come and gone and just like that we are more than half way through the transfer. Hard to believe how fast the time is flying by! This transfer has been like the blink of an eye. I can't wrap my mind around how fast time is going by. This past week was a really good one though. We accomplished a lot and had a lot of fun doing it!

So we found out last Monday from Jacob that he was behind on rent and that if he didn't pay it in full in 10 days that he was going to have to go back to jail.. it was really startling to all of us cause he was doing so good with everything and decided he wanted to stop smoking and then out of know where Satan comes a long and BOOM he finds him self in a ditch. So we said a prayer together to find a means where we could help him pay his rent and I was reminded about the church welfare program. after talking to bishop brown we were able to find a way to help him out this month so that he could have more time to find a second job. I sure am grateful to be apart of the everlasting gospel that is here to better others lives and help others find the true meaning of faith in Christ. That experience truly did strengthen my testimony in not only the power of prayer, but he power that charity has in ones life. Jacob came to church yesterday and is still super pumped to be baptized!

We were also able to have another one of our investigators, Virginia, come to church. haha she is such a sweet lady and came strollin' in rocking a huge cross haha it was pretty funny, but she enjoyed the service. Unfortunately we weren't able to meet with Mike this past week because he was feeling under the weather which also kept him from making it to church. So pray that he will be able to make it this next week!

We also got to go on exchanges with the Phillippi Elders which was a lot of fun! I got to go with elder Cornwall haha I love that kid. He's looking to play ball for Dixie when he gets home so we had a lot in common and a lot to talk about as you could imagine. You get two baseball players together that have never met and they become brothers in the first two hours haha. Love that guy!!

Yesterday was a pretty fun day haha we had church then went over and spent some time with one of our investigator families The Swigers and hung out with him and his baseball team for a little bit and right before his practice he introduced us to all of his players parents and told them to let us in there homes so we could teach them haha hes a great guy and will be a wonderful member missionary some day! after that we went to a dinner appointment and then we taught Jacob and he proceeded to teach us how to make homemade mustard gas and napalm ha so that was pretty funny. After we were leaving our appointment with Jacob I was walking behind Elder Garrett and slapped him on the back of the head and he thought it was someone else so he got super heated and almost turned around and decked me haha it was really funny.. You had to be there to understand..

For my spiritual thought I want to share another scripture from the Book of Mormon.

Alma 34: 32

32 For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.

Remember that we cant become perfect over night and that God doesn't expect us to be perfect tomorrow. He never expects us to be perfect in this life. But he has given us our LIFE to become like him. So if your struggling with something right now that doesn't seem possible to overcome, remember that you have your whole life and then some to work on that and become better. The Savior is beckoning to us to come unto him, listen to his call, use the atonement each and every day and trust in the Father's plan. I love you all and hope you have a great week!!

March 12, 2018

Hey Y'all!

What a week what a week... Honestly have no clue where this past week went.. All I know is I went to bed last Monday night and BOOM I woke up and its Monday again.. I swear time is only going faster and faster. BUT I ain't complaining haha.

This past week we had Zone conference and that was pretty dope, President Lindhardt has so much knowledge and its always fun when he starts to teach about certain topics. This last Conference he started talking about the Plan of Salvation, and holy cow my mind was blown, but I learned a lot and it has once again shown me that the plan of salvation is really a plan of love. It has also taught me that you can dig REALLY deep into the scriptures if you pay attention to all the fine lining that is in there. You'd think I would have figured this out in the beginning right?

We also had exchanges with the New Marty Elders this past week and that was a lot of fun! I was with Elder Younger which was a lot of fun cause he was in my group that I came out with so it was good to catch up with him! He's a stud of a missionary and really knows how to connect with the people. Later that night we went over to brother Marsh's house and learned about the flat earth theory.. Have to admit, I'm starting to lean towards it! ;) haha Just kidding I haven't been to school in forever so anything I learn about seems right lol.

We had a new investigator come to church this week! his name is Mike Losquadro! Hes a great guy and is really seeking for truth, He asks all the questions that we have the answers too and its so cool to see how our answers have brought him so much comfort. Mike comes from the Catholic back ground but has been questioning his faith for a while now. He's hilarious though, He's an older guy from Brooklyn so he has a super thick accent and its funny to hear him talk to people. Sounds like he should be in a mafia or something haha. He's been decking me and Elder Garrett out in chains and crosses so we have been looking like straight G's haha he's a good guy!

For my spiritual thought I want to share a scripture from the book of Mosiah.

Mosiah 18: 30

30 And now it came to pass that all this was done in Mormon, yea, by the waters of Mormon, in the forest that was near the waters of Mormon; yea, the place of Mormon, the waters of Mormon, the forest of Mormon, how beautiful are they to the eyes of them who there came to the knowledge of their Redeemer; yea, and how blessed are they, for they shall sing to his praise forever

We all know that the name of the Book of Mormon comes from the prophet that abridged it for us. But this week I learned that its also named The Book of Mormon because its a source of where we can be brought to the knowledge of our redeemer, and as we do this it will become beautiful to our eyes. I'm grateful for the Book of Mormon, and for the strength, peace, and direction that it brings to my everyday life. With out it I would be lost, but With it, I have power over all my temptations and struggles. It truly is the tool of the gathering! I invite you all to read this book and ask God if the book is NOT true. I promise you with my whole being that you will receive your answer, and it will change your life. I love you all and hope you have a great week!!!

MAGIC

Hey Y'all,

Well I'll be completely honest with you, This past week was completely uneventful haha. Nothing to crazy happened and it was probably one of the fastest weeks of my mission so that's pretty neat I guess. It was crazy busy but it was out of the ordinary or anything so I don't really know what to talk about. But that's ok because weeks like this happen. You can't have crazy weeks every week right?

We had MLC on Tuesday and that was pretty cool. Talked about the importance of a modern day prophet and what it means to each of us individually. I'm grateful that the heavens aren't closed and that we have someone on earth who leads and guides us to do our God's will. What a blessing! After MLC we had exchanges with the APs which is always fun, I got to go with Elder Willie again, I always learn so much from him, we had a lot of people tell us that we look like twins which is pretty funny haha we were ok with it cause we act a lot a like so ya that's pretty neat.

We also had exchanges with the Phillippi Elders this past week and that was a lot of fun! Elder Cornwall taught us some dope magic tricks so we have been blowing peoples minds in every appointment haha its super funny and is a good ice breaker, so shout out elder Cornwall!

Elder Jensen and I had the chance to go to a multi Christian fellowship breakfast on Saturday morning which was pretty interesting, One of the ladies that started preaching in tongues and started laying her hands on people and giving them blessings. She told us that medicine is of the devil and that if your fat and have illness that you aren't allowed to preach the word of God because God doesn't love you that's why he cursed you with your problems..................................................................................... I'm grateful to know that we have a modern day prophet that receives true revelation so that we can learn about the true nature of God and his love for us. Count your many blessings!

For my spiritual thought this week I just want to invite you all to pray to your Heavenly Father and ask him what he truly thinks about you and what your doing in your life right now. President Lindhardt invited us to do that at MLC and I can testify that God will manifest his love for you. I hope you all read this and do this. I can promise you it will help you with whatever you may be struggling with right now in your life. I love you all and hope you have a good week.
