Just Another Week Anticipating Paradise

Hey Y'all!

Another week in the books! and its been fetching nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttsss!! We have been running around like chickens with our heads cut off but its ok because the church is still true and the works gotta push on!

Soooooo Nathaniel's baptism was great! He was super pumped to be baptized, after the baptism he ran up to me and Elder Dutson and yelled "I'M FINALLY A MORMON!" it was great. I had the opportunity to confirm him a member which was awesome. I love being able to feel the spirit work through me as I labor in the Lord's vineyard! After the baptism one of the members had his friend named Jimmy teach us a little spiritual lesson by lifting heavy objects such as a giant bolder and a giant iron sludge hammer haha it was really awkward but really funny at the same time, so it made for a good time.

Transfers ran pretty smoothly and I got my new companion. His name is Elder Garrett and he is a stud! He's from Montana and loves to play basketball! He just came from serving as the Buena Vista Zoneleader so its quite the change for him to come out to Clarksburg West Virginia but he loves the ghetto so he is super pumped to be here haha.

Ummm other than that not much else happened. We were driving all over the place for Elder Dutson so he could say goodbye to people and that was hard as usual but he will do good in his next area! we also had stake conference this past week which was really good. We got to hear from one of the 70's Elder Dunnigan and he killed it! Jacob was able to make it to both the adult session and Sunday session of stake conference and he loved both of it. After wards he told us that he was super excited to be baptized. He knows its going to take a lot but he is excited and that's all that matters! He's feeling faith unto repentance and is taking the necessary steps to be prepared to enter into the waters of baptism!

Well folks, just know that I love you all. God is good all the time and all the time God is good! Never forget that and never forget Him! He loves you and so do I! have a killer week!!

Holiness to the Lord

Hey Y'all

What a week its been! This past week has probably been one of the most rewarding weeks of my mission! I have witnessed so many blessings/Miracles that have strengthened my testimony of the Gospel! I'm grateful to have a loving Father in heaven that is mindful of us and everything that we are going through. It truly does bring me peace and confidence in my self and in my everyday life. We found out that Elder Dutson will be getting transferred this week unfortunately.. I'm sad to see him go, hes blessed my mission/life in so many ways and I'm eternally grateful for that. I know hes going to tear it up in his next area just like he did here! Dudes a stud!

So to start off the week... NATHANIEL IS BEING BAPTIZED! We were able to talk to Sam and Veronica (she's Nathaniel's Mom, the one that wouldn't let him be baptized earlier) and she said that she feels like he is ready for baptism and that its only fair that she lets him choose which church he joins!! So many prayers and fasting have finally payed off. Nathaniel will enter the waters of baptism this Wednesday! which is perfect because its right before Elder Dutson leaves to his new area!

On Tuesday we found a new investigator that will be our next baptism! We Taught Jacob the message of the Restoration and after the lesson he told us that he knew that the Book of Mormon was true and that he wanted to be baptized! So now we are helping him prepare to enter the waters of baptism as well. He came to church yesterday and the ward really opened up to him! he had a great experience and cant wait to come back next week.

Another cool experience we had this week was while we were walking to one of our lessons we were stopped by a man that was working on a house that we were walking by and he called in to talk to him, when we walked in he just UNLOADED everything that he was going through and said "You guys have been called of God to do this so you better have my answer." we were both kind of in awe at first and a little dumb founded, we didn't know what to say but when we had a minute to think about it we were able to give him an answer that later brought him to tears. He was going to court and had a chance of going back to prison and losing his daughter who he held so dear to his heart. He was an amazing guy and you could tell that he was trying to change his life around. We shared a few scriptures out of the Book of Mormon and Bible with him that helped lead him to some answers, One that stood out to him the most was Alma 37:37 which tells us to counsel with the Lord in all that we do. I was trying to keep the tears in while I was reading it, The spirit was so strong and I know that we were able to help Micheal out that day. I love being able to bring light, and peace into peoples life as missionaries. I love being a difference maker!

And to top off this amazing week we had the chance to go to the Washington D.C. Temple!!!! that was an amazing experience for sure. I never realized how big it was! haha I mean that things is HUGE! It felt so good to be able to clear my mind of all the stress and worries and just focus on the spirit that was there in the temple. I look forward to being able to go whenever I want when I get home. We don't realize how blessed we are in Utah to have temples all around us. Elder Dutson and I had the opportunity to do the baptizing for our Recent Converts. That truly was an amazing experience. I could feel the presence of their ancestors as they were baptized and brought back into the fold of God. The trip to the Washington D.C. Temple is something that I will always hold dear to my heart. I'm grateful that my heavenly father blessed me with such a great experience. It was crazy busy there too, one of the workers told us that 800 people received their own endowments that day. Crazy! We also saw 4 weddings that day...................... that made me low key trunky lol.

I want to invite you all to find time to go to the temple this week. Its the House of The Lord and the only place on earth that we can escape the craziness of our everyday life. We are blessed when we do missionary work for those people beyond the veil. For those of you who didn't have the opportunity to go on a mission, this is your chance to do missionary work. Take advantage of every minute that you can to go to the temple! Elder Dutson and I had the opportunity to bear our testimony in front of our stake in the temple and i'll leave with you what I left with them. I know that the temple can bring direction to our lives when we need it most and that they are here not only for us but for those who have moved on from this life. I know this is the Lords work and that he is hastening it in his own time. Do all you can to be apart of it!!

I love you all and hope you have a great week, Sorry for the huge email.

Gary the Goose

Hey Y'all!

I swear this passed week didn't even happen.. When I go to think about what we did its all just a blur. But it was a fun week though so that's good! We got a lot and made a lot of crazy memories haha!

To start the week off we had to go pay a ticket cause Elder Dutson is a speed demon and got pulled over.... hah it wasn't his fault though, There wasn't a speed limit sign near by and he was going with the flow of traffic which just happened to be 10 MPH over the speed limit and our little speed box decided not to work.. and of course the people the Police decide to pull over was the little Mormon Boys.... BUT we got it all taken care of :)

We were able to go on an exchange with the Phillippi Elders this week down in Phillippi WV and that was an adventure as always.. haha they had a baptism that night and their investigator wanted us to come down for it. It was great to see her enter into the covenant with her Heavenly Father. She will continue on the rest of her life to bless the lives of those around her! Earlier that day Elder Jensen and I were driving back to the apartment and we ended up hitting a goose.... SO I threw it in the back of the truck and cooked it up for all the Elders that night... Nothing beats a nice plate of road kill goose!! :) It made for a good story lol.

Missions are awesome! I have loved being in the service of my Lord these past 18 months. They have been filled with amazing memories and spiritual experiences that have changed my life forever. Living the law of consecration really puts into perspective the blessings that the gospel has to offer us. One of my favorite quotes from Elder Neal A. Maxwell is:
"Consecration is the only surrender that's also a victory."
This quote is so true! As we consecrate our selves to the will of our Heavenly father we see our lives change and we see the lives of those around change as well. I want to invite you all to look at things in your life that you can do to consecrate your self to better follow Gods will. I promise you that whatever you are searching for in life will come, and you will know that it was by the power of your Heavenly Father's hand. I love you all and hope you have a great week! Have a Happy Valentines Day!!

6 Months Till Sexy

Hey Y'all!

I cant believe that its already February! In just 6 short months ill be getting ready to walk off the plane, I look forward to serving with all my heart, might, mind, and strength these next 6 months. They say that the last 6 are the fastest, but they also say that you experience many miracles in those last few months as a servant of the Lord. I'm grateful for my mission and all that it has taught me so far, It has brought so much fulfillment in my life that will bless me for many years to come, Heavenly father has a plan for his children and he knows what each of us need to deepen our faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm grateful to have a God up in heaven that is so aware of us and each of our needs.

This past week was crazy as usual. feels like we cant catch a break to just slow everything down haha but I guess that's just the life of working such a big area! I'm grateful for a busy schedule cause that means that we are doing something right! right? haha this past week we were able to pick up a new couple that seem pretty promising. Both are recovering drug addicts but they have made a HUGE change in their life, and it all started when they read the bible together in a baptist church. They both are really excited about the Book of Mormon and are hoping to make out to church soon! So we are pretty excited about that :) I also had the opportunity to hold a baptismal interview for the Phillippi Elders this past week and had a great time talking with their investigator. At the end of the interview I asked her if she would bear me her testimony of the gospel and she said something that hit me pretty hard. She said "The Gospel fills a whole in my life that I never knew I had in my life." The spirit was so strong during the interview and it helped me to realize that The Gospel of Jesus Christ really does bring joy in a world that is ever so crazy and lost in the ways of unrighteous leaders. I'm grateful to have been born in a wonderful family that raised me in this great gospel. It truly has blessed my life in so many ways!

We also started doing Insanity every morning this past week and that's been kicking my butt! Never realized how out of shape I really am... Good thing I got 6 months ;)

I hope you all have a good week. Never forget that God loves you, Christ loves you, and so do I!!
